Power Outage

Dozens called me today to let me know the blog was down for a few hours mid-afternoon. Don't worry: I already knew. And it wasn't me, but Typepad. It experienced some downtime. In fact, a Slashdot reader reported earlier of  "a major outage apparently centered on 365 Main, a datacenter on the edge of San Francisco's Financial District."

That explains it.
