This is the official campaign blog of Congressman Tancredo's run for the White House. We'll show you what is happening on the campaign almost everyday and encourage you to get involved. You'll see why Congressman Tancredo is running to secure the borders, protect American sovereignty, and preserve our culture.
Please remember this fallen soldier today , November 2, 2007, on the anniversary of his death....I have a personal connection to Ben who was killed in Iraq on Nov 2., 2005. I was living in Hudson, WI at the time he was killed. His name is Benjamin A. Smith. Although I didn't know Ben personally, I attended his military funeral and was so touched by the whole experience of this young warrior and how he sacrificed his life for our country. I was misty eyed the entire ceremony. I remember hearing the protestors outside the church and was so angry, for the parents of this soldier to hear flipping protestors, while they were burying their son, upset me so much. I got angry and at that moment, I vowed to carry Ben's spirit with me ...onward.
I bought a memorial bracelet that I wear that has Ben's photo, name, in memory of him, to keep his name and spirt alive. Ben is in my heart and soul always. I am so touched when strangers or friends ask me about my bracelet since I get to share the memory of Ben with them. I have Ben's photo on my computer screensaver so when the going gets tough, seeing Ben brings me back to reality and helps keep me focused. I'm doing what I do for Benjamin A. Smith, Hudson, WI, folks because he fought tirelessly in Iraq for our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice in doing it. Ben's memory will live on in my heart always. My bracelet will eventually go to his surviving family when I leave this earth so Ben's tribute and memory can continue to be paid forward.
I have ordered flowers to be delivered to Ben's parents today.
I burned a CD for Ben's parents with the songs Lee Greenwood, God Bless the USA and Tim McGraw's "if you're reading this" in memory of Ben.
I have mailed them a personal letter to let them know Ben's spirit is still alive in me and the bracelet I wear in honor of him every day. .. this is who I am , I am genuinely concerned about others, our country and our military.. It is never about me.
And this is why I support Tom Tancredo for our country. He will defend our country and security. He has the attitude if we go to war, "we win, you lose".
It takes a Tanc to secure our borders!

Jury Awards Father Nearly $11 Million in Funeral Protesters Case
Thursday, November 01, 2007
BALTIMORE — The father of a fallen Marine was awarded nearly $11 million Wednesday in damages by a jury that found leaders of a fundamentalist church had invaded the family's privacy and inflicted emotional distress when they picketed the Marine's funeral.
The jury first awarded $2.9 million in compensatory damages. It returned later in the afternoon with its decision to award $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy and $2 million for causing emotional distress to the Marine's father, Albert Snyder of York, Pa.
Snyder sued the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church for unspecified monetary damages after members staged a demonstration at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq.

We need to wake America up.
The other issues, healthcare, education, taxes, etc. won't matter when this revolution takes place (not in the distant future). These groups want to take America over, listen carefully to their message...
Show your neighbors, family & friends, this is reality of what is happening to our great country. Check out LaRaza, Mecha as well....

Tom, like all the other towns in Iowa that you have been to I think you should come to Belle Plaine. I think it would help other people around here besides me have a better understanding of what you stand for and show them that you would make a great president for our country.

Curry - Great comment! Caree and I have family members in Belle Plaine! It's nice to have a Tanc supporter there!
