"Immigration: A Roadside IED on the Trail"
-Newsweek
"The flow of the presidential campaign has taken me to Iowa a good bit lately, and here is the chief thing I learned: the immigration issue is a roadside IED there, and all politicians, Republicans in particular, had better up-armor—fast."
When we are blogging in Iowa, and commenting on forums there let's all remember to remind people that it was Tom who started his campaign on this issue. Tom actually started his career in Washington on this issue. The others did not come on board until after WE THE PEOPLE nearly drowned Washington in faxes and emails and did succeed in shutting down the Capitol Hill phone system in June.
The others have flip flopped on the issue and cannot be trusted not to flip flop back if they are elected.
Tom will hit the ground running and not let us down. Look for him to start to work between the Inauguration ceremony and the Inauguration ball.
TOM CAN beat Hillary because he has the message that will bring voters who have given up and quit voting back to the polls.
Tom is the smallest stature of all the candidates but stands head and shoulders above all the rest; not just on this issue of illegal immigration and border security but the issues of SPP and NAU that threaten the sovereignty of our REPUBLIC.

This is a bit off the subject, but it is great news that Tom will be speaking at the "Politics & Eggs" series on September 24, 2007 as it is considered a priority stop on the campaign circuit. The fact that the program brings leaders and speakers from the region together for discussion and questions is a great venue for Tom's message.
The msnbc article is basically stating that the Democrats are ignoring illegal immigration in Iowa and the Republicans are going to have to handle and manage it as the mood ebbs and flows throughout the state. Every Republican candidate deals with it in a different manner, other than Tom, who makes his stance know from the get go, while the others waffle around on what effects their positions will have throughout Iowa and the country. Fred Thompson is supposedly the new champion for the cause, and he will deal with it based around how immigration laws affect the family.
Tom is not given much credence (in Iowa) as the article states his low numbers in the polls would have a limited effect on the illegal issue there.
We have to get more input within Iowa, so the voters there know what Tom is trying to say and do. Please work with the organizers in Iowa (Caree) and post on the various Iowa newspaper forums that have been provided. If you are not sure where to go for this, look at the forum threads on firesociety.com under 2008 Election, and you will see Tom's name there under several threads. You will find the Iowa paper information there along with other information.

So Howard Fineman finally got a clue. Well, we've got news for you Howie, Tanc's Army Against Amnesty has known about the illegal immigration threat/invasion for a long time now and that's why we're behind Tom 1000%.
Hey Alan, has People magazine done an article on Tom yet? This needs to happen ASAP!! Thank you! And when are we going to see him on Jay Leno and David Letterman? The sooner the better!!

Caree, you're a real Team Tancredo trooper!
Since you're posting about donations, what I'd like to do is challenge Tom's Army Against Amnesty to bite the bullet and attempt to reach a higher donating goal. So far, I think my donations have reached close to $1,000. Is there anyone else out there who would be willing to match or exceed this?
As we know every dollar amount counts, and Tom will have to turn in financial dislosures in October. How about we let him know how much we really need him as our next President and help him raise as much money as we possibly can before that date?
Of all the candidates running, TOM TANCREDO DEFINITELY DESERVES IT!
Thanks for your consideration.

Regarding donations to the Tancredo campaign, here's a link that has some interesting information:
http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/finances/index.html
It looks like we have at least 30 people who have donated the maximum, so the rest of us certainly have something to shoot (Go 2nd amendment!) for. As for me, I've put most of my donations on my credit card, and I'm now to the point of selling items out of my coin collection in order to send funds to Tom's campaign, and I plan to reach the $2300.00 point by the end of the year. And yes, it's painful to do so. But it isn't anywhere near the pain our grandchildren and the grandchildren of illegal Mexican immigrants are going to face when they're fighting and dying over the Southwest area of what is now the United States. Or for that matter, the pain of those dying at the hands of illegal immigrants now. Honestly, I don't maintain any great confidence that Tom will win, but I hope he does, as I have absolutly no confidence at all in any of the other candidates to resolve the concerns with immigration. So, anyone else out there in Tancredo land willing to commit to the $2300.00 maximum? Let's see... 5000 people at $2300.00 equals 11.5 million. With that, Tom could really be in the game. Where are all the NumbersUSA people in this.. are they pulling for Romney or some other pro-immigrant candidate? And what of Congressman J. D. Hayworth's petition plan?... or the Minutemen, or the "We're building a fence now" groups? Wouldn't it be better if they all joined Congressman Tancredo and really pushed this issue as a joint campaign? Anyway, enough for now, I think I'll see how much I can get for my daughter's bicycle...
