Here It Is!

Hah! Minutes ago I wrote a post about this.

I heard cheer and applause for Congressman Tancredo's response on how immigration IS an issue. Tancredo's in the game now.

*** post-debate transcript insertion ***

MR. VANDEHEI: Congressman Tancredo, David Kim (sp) from here in California wants to know, beside yourself, who do you think should be the Republican nominee for president of the United States, and why?

REP. TANCREDO: Well, of course, if I thought there should be another one, I wouldn't be here. I think that I serve the purpose. I think that we -- good men all here, don't get me wrong. But I am telling you this; that there are issues that I believe have not been addressed tonight, not in full, and I believe that they do separate us, and I certainly believe the issue of immigration and immigration reform and what's going to happen to this country unless we deal with this forthrightly.

No more platitudes. No more obfuscating with using words like, "Well, I am not for amnesty but I'm for letting them stay." That kind of stuff has got to be taken away from the political debate, as far as I'm concerned, so people can understand exactly who is where on this incredibly important issue.

I am deeply grateful for Congressman Tancredo's clarity, reason, proactive protection of the country, and leadership on this issue. If we saction illegal activity, sneaking, disorder etc. we will have failed to protect and defend this precious country and its founding documents, principles and constitution! It would be a fundamental disrespect. Keep pounding away at!

It seems to me that using an amendment written for another purpose to justify the anchor baby phenomenum, and allow it, is ridiculous legal reasoning. It should never have been started, and should be stopped, now.

How can we permit dishonoring those who go through the legal process, are here legally and have become or are working towards citizenship? I have met so many of these people from Mexico, Nigeria, Guam etc....We are fortunate many sweet lovely people do all it takes to get here the right way and treasure their citizenship and this country.
To do anything less than insist our laws be inforced opens the door for increased corruption of our entire society. It cheapens everyone's citizenship and would poison relations between new citizens/new immigrants and both the native born and properly legal new aspiring citizens or recent new citizens. Amnesty by any name is unconsionable, Free services drivers licences, voter ID cards to anyone and everyone is like taking our country and throwing it away with both hands!! I am incredulous these things are being done and the previously trusted officials aren't behind bars! Frankly, I have become disgusted with the executive and legislative branches, not to mention various state and local governments, on this issue. I truely wish you had more help on this in congress, but it is the executive that is NOT enforcing the good laws that are on the books! So many people love you for what you have been doing.

THANK YOU FOR RUNNING! Don't forget to use the strong conservative radio talk/interview shows.
